We are in the business of selling software, not data. Mail Memories is a local-only Mac and Windows application. It does not send your photos, email contents, or passwords to us or anyone else. The heavy lifting happens on your own computer.
When you use Mail Memories to scan your email, the application runs entirely on your computer. The connection is made directly between your computer and your email provider (e.g., Gmail).
When you log in (using an App Password), that authentication token is used locally to connect to your email provider.
To make the app function and verify your license, the app securely sends three specific pieces of information to our database when you complete a scan:
We do not use third-party “analytics SDKs” (like Facebook Pixel) inside the app to track your clicks or screen time.
If the app crashes, your operating system may ask if you want to send a crash report to the developer. If you choose to share this, it creates an anonymous log file that helps us fix the bug. This log does not contain your photos or personal data. You can opt out of this in your system settings.
We use trusted payment processors like Stripe to handle transactions.
Your email address acts as your software key. If you sign up for our newsletter or purchase a license, we will use your email to send you product updates, bug fix announcements, or receipts. We will never sell your email address to advertisers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
If we ever change this policy (e.g., if we add a feature that requires a new permission), we will update the date at the top of this page and explain exactly what changed.
If you have any questions about your privacy or how the app works, please email me directly:
